“Worship …..Word ……Works!!!”

“I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong.  That is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.”  Romans 1:11

With over 20 years of experience in ministry, Pastor Karen has brought a wealth of biblical knowledge and visionary leadership to the ministries in which she has served.  She has been mentored by seasoned ministers of Worship and the Word.  She is a welcomed psalmist across New England, the U.S. and internationally who divinely deposits what God has entrusted to her.

She received her Biblical training from Bethel Bible Institute and New England Bible Institute and became a licensed Pastor in September of 2007.  A graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Boston, she attained  a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science/Pre-Law.  Although Pastor Karen’s desire was to pursue a degree in civil law, God had another plan as He pursued her and led her into ministry.  The path that God has taken her, has led her to a place where she not only delivers the Word of God, but presents the God of the Word with love, power and compassion!

She has been a guest speaker at women’s conferences (empowering women to pursue their divine destiny), worship  conferences (teaching and exemplifying the power of prophetic worship through the arts) and seminars where  she is used by God to train worship ministries.  She participated along with Ron Kenoly in Boston Night of Worship ( a powerful worship movement emerging in the New England region.)  Pastor Karen’s love for the work of God is evident as she moves throughout the Body of Christ sharing the Word and ministering through song.

In her home church – Family Life Fellowship in Hyde Park, MA. –  Pastor Karen serves in various capacities as a member of the senior leadership team.  Her passion and focus is to move the Body of Christ towards becoming a Spirit-filled, emotionally healthy church through worship, the word and works of service.  As Worship Pastor she channels this passion into Symphoneo – the music and arts ministry which consists of the worship team, adult and children’s choirs, musicians, dance ministry, drama and Rhema – a dramatic expression of the spoken word.

Karen is an anointed singer/songwriter and Psalmist whose gifts have made room for her in many arenas. Alvin Slaughter, Walter Hawkins, Judy Jacobs, Candi Staton, Joy Turner-Hill and saxophonists Allen and Allen are just some of the ministries that Karen has had an opportunity to be exposed to and work with.

Locally, she has shared her musical gifts at venues such as Boston’s Summer Gospelfest, Whittier Street Health Center’s Gospel concert with Bobby Jones, the Mayor’s State of the State address, Boston Night of Worship 2009 at M.I.T. and of course many local churches.  Recently, Karen’s song “Glory to the Son of God” was chosen to be on the “World Worships 2010” cd project that was released in Atlanta, GA on June 3, 2010 and distributed to a global audience of approximately 5000.  She is the recipient of the Angelicah Gospel Music Award and is the author  of  the song “Rock of Salvation”  which received a prestigious award in the Caribbean. Gospel artist Candi Staton heard the song while ministering in the islands and later recorded it on her CD, “Cover Me.”!

Karen is poised to begin traveling around the world sharing “heaven’s songs.”  She is a sought after songwriter and background vocalist who is not afraid to share her gifts to help her fellow singers/songwriters advance their gifts and talents.

“P-K,” as she is affectionately called, is a divine mixture of Native American and Bajan ancestry.  She has been married to her husband Collin for 23 years and is the proud mother of Jarrid, Ashli and  Joshua. She and her family reside in Milton, MA.
